Mean Median Mode Calculator
Find the mean, median, mode, range, count, and sum of a data set directly in your browser.
Enter a data set
Enter numbers separated by commas. The calculator sorts a copy of the values, then reports the count, sum, mean, median, mode, and range. Keep the original list if the values represent a survey, experiment, grade set, or other record that must be audited later.
Statistics formulas
Mean equals the sum of all values divided by the count. Median is the middle value after sorting, or the average of the two middle values when the count is even. Mode is the value or values with the highest frequency. Range equals the maximum minus the minimum.
Worked example
For 2, 3, 3, 5, 7, the count is 5, the sum is 20, the mean is 4, the median is 3, the mode is 3, and the range is 5. A data set can have no mode or more than one mode, so read the result rather than assuming every set has one unique mode.
Frequently asked questions
Frequently Asked Questions About Online Calculators
Does the calculator change my original order?
The calculation sorts a working copy for median and range logic. Keep your source list if the original order matters.
Can there be more than one mode?
Yes. A data set may have multiple values tied for the highest frequency.
Is this a statistical test?
No. It summarizes the values entered and does not replace a study design or statistical review.
