Graphing Calculator
Plot a supported function of x on a responsive browser canvas without sending the expression to a calculation API.
Plot a function of x
Enter a supported expression using x, such as x^2, sin(x), or 2*x+1. Choose the minimum and maximum x values, then plot the sampled curve. The graph is drawn in the browser and invalid or non-finite points are skipped so a discontinuity is not connected as a false line.
Reading the graph
A graph is a visual sample, not a proof of every point. Increase the interval detail or inspect the expression when a curve has a sharp turn, asymptote, or discontinuity. Confirm that the angle mode matches the expression when using trigonometric functions.
Worked example
For x^2 on the interval from -5 to 5, the curve is symmetric around the y-axis and reaches its minimum at x = 0. For sin(x), switch between DEG and RAD deliberately because the same input produces a different curve in each mode.
Frequently asked questions
Frequently Asked Questions About Online Calculators
Is the expression uploaded?
The supported graphing expression is evaluated in the browser by the shared calculator engine.
Can I plot every mathematical function?
No. The page accepts the functions implemented by the shared parser.
Why can a curve have a gap?
Non-finite results and invalid samples are left disconnected to avoid drawing a misleading line.
